Mary Beth Pettit Receives President's Award
A highlight of the GRAEF Holiday Gala, held at Union South in Madison, Wisconsin, was the annual presentation of the President’s Award. Several worthy nominees were suggested to John Kissinger, but after careful deliberation, Mary Beth Pettit was the selected recipient. Mary Beth’s selection makes her the first two-time winner in GRAEF’s history.
Instituted in 1991 by founder Lou Graef, the award is annually presented at the discretion of GRAEF’s President. GRAEF staff members can nominate any employee that fulfilled some or all of the following criteria: (1) provided significant contributions to GRAEF, (2) demonstrated outstanding service to the firm.served as a role model for co-workers, and (3) exhibited creativity and/or innovation in performance of their job function.
When asked what it was about Pettit's nomination that stood out, John Kissinger commented that Mary Beth bested a strong field of candidates by virtue of her tremendous body of work, not only on the Hoan Bridge, but also on USH 41 and US12, among others. According to John Kissinger "Mary Beth had strong and passionate support from the Milwaukee Transportation Group, because she continuously exemplifies GRAEF’s core values of outstanding client service and loyalty to our employees. She is an outstanding representative for the entire Hoan Bridge team, and well deserving of receiving this honor a second time."
